I read about Blogging By Mail on the Dispensing Happiness blog (via Baking Bites) and thought it would be a neato thing to do.
Here's the gist:
"You may have noticed that the price of everything is going up, right? Yeah, me too. But I still love sending off packages, and getting one in return? Just as exciting. So my solution to the impending recession is this: 10 Items or Less. Ten (or fewer) of your favorite things, ten must-haves, ten items that interest or excite you at the moment....food, stationary, books, whatever.
And by 'items', I mean a unit. For example: one box of tea would be an item. A bag or packet of something, also counts as one.
Gather up your favorite things, but limit yourself to no more than TEN. The goal is to cut down on shipping costs, which are fairly outrageous right now."
Doesn't this sound cool? You send someone 10 things, and someone sends you 10 things. I already signed up. If you're interested in participating, go here for details. (You must have a blog, though, in order to participate.)

You didn't have to sign up for this. You could have sent me ten cookies. :) Hee-hee!!

Hi, Laurel. Awesome! Maybe we'll end up with each other as package recipienets. How funny would that be?

That would be awesome because I am sure anything you are going to send would be something I would love.

Hey, I was just wondering what kinds of things we should send in for this. I know it is food items and obviously your favorite ones, but do you think it needs to be cooking "food" items or just anything that you love to eat.

Hi, Laurel. I haven't decided what to include yet. I guess it depends on where my package is going. I was thinking of doing NYC-specific items...but that wouldn't work if the person I'm sending to is near NYC. I was thinking of a mix of food things and nonfood things. But the final contents will depend on where the box is going...
