Operation Baking GALS (give a little support) organizes bakers and food bloggers into groups of volunteers who send soldiers in Iraq cookie-stuffed care packages every month.
Teams are forming for Round 7, so go to www.bakinggals.com and join up. (You'll have to create a log in, but that's a cinch.) You can even join the Baking GALS Facebook group.
If you've got some time and know your way around an oven (or can fake it), think about baking up some cookie love for folks who could use it.

Yea! This is a great project. I baked and shipped last month as part of a team - heard about it right here, Greg, and chose your classic Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookie recipe to send. It's a great excuse to bake, you know the recipients will really appreciate your cookies, and it's really not hard to do! Planning to do it again this round.

Just wanted to say thanks for promoting our group! :-) Keep up the good work! I know our military really appreciates us doing this!
Thanks again!
