After my last attempt at pretzel-making, I wasn't sure if I wanted to have anything to do with yeast or bread for a while. But I was in the grocery store last night (in the baking aisle, of course) and fresh, new envelopes of Fleishmann's "highly active" yeast were calling my name. So I picked up a packet and headed upstairs.
Yay! The yeast was my friend. I guess it helps to use fresh yeast and not the envelopes that have been hanging out in the back of the cabinet collecting dust for months (or years).
These babies turned out really, really well. I topped them with sea salt for a little twist on the original recipe. I was so pleased with them that I had four for dinner!

...and I had the other two! These were divine!

:-) They were really good! I'm going to try a sweet cinnamon/sugar version next.
