On Friday, Jon and I went a few blocks north to El Cocotero for a South American dinner. I've noticed a few Venezuelan restaurants recently, fueled by the popularity of arepas, I'm sure. The food was very tasty and very filling for the price. Save the chicha de arroz, a liquefied rice pudding drink, for dessert. That thing is sweet!
1 and 2) The "degustacion" appetizer: fried plantains, yucca, and mini arepas with bowls of spicy chicken, guacamole chicken, black beans, and stewed beef. 3 and 4) Sandwiches made with fried plantain chips as the bread.
