Though our plan to have a bite at the birthplace of the hamburger was foiled, Katie and I decided to stay in New Haven and find a place to have a relaxing lunch. Just a short walk away, we found Istanbul Cafe, where we happily swapped grilled beef for grilled lamb.
1) Nohut ezme: humus and flatbread. 2) Yogurtlu kebab: grilled chunks of lamb with soft croutons and spicy tomato and cool yogurt sauces. 3) Adana kebab: grilled spicy lamb with rice and a carrot salad.
