A reader wrote in to ask about my progress with developing gluten-free cookie recipes:
Just wondering if you had any luck experimenting with gluten free recipes. I can eat everything but gluten & I LOVE oatmeal cookies, but I have had no success w/ my own so far--they tend to turn into oatmeal soup that drips off my cookie sheet & makes a giant mess...alas!
Well...that's a really good question, but I'm afraid I don't have much to report on that front other than I've done some investigating to see what gluten-free ingredients I can use.
Unfortunately, I've found conflicting information. Some sources say that oatmeal has gluten. Other sources say oatmeal does not have gluten. That darned interwebs just isn't as reliable as it used to be! I must do more research, dear readers.
