The best jarred marinara by far, in my humble opinion, is made by Rao's. It's on the pricier side, but it's incredibly flavorful, light, and fresh--not like other brands that are too sweet, too salty, too thick, or just too darned herby.
I use this sauce whenever I make pasta; I also use it as the sauce whenever I make pizza. Rao's even rivals my Italian grandmother's everyday sauce--her secret ingredient notwithstanding.
