Operation Baking GALS organizes bakers and food bloggers into groups of volunteers who send soldiers in Iraq cookie-stuffed care packages every month.
For round #6, I made my Coconut Rum Raisinet Cookies. Four dozen of them! I thought about sending Valentine's Day cookies but decided on these guys because they were so popular with my real-life cookie tasters.
If you've got the time, think about sending some love to someone you don't know. All you need is some cookie fixins, a sealable plastic container, and a box.
Thanks for this reminder, Greg. I had looked into it when you first posted about it, but was going to be away for awhile and planned to do it when I returned. This post brought it to the front burner again, and I've now signed up with a team. I'll be choosing and baking my cookies soon and shipping them off. It feels great to have this way to share cookies with someone who will really love to receive them.
Thanks for doing this. I'll let you know what I end up baking, it may will be something from your blog!

Hi, Carol. Yay! I'm glad you "joined up." :-) If I have some time before the deadline for this round, I'll try to send off a second batch. And thanks for using one of my recipes. :-)
