For dinner on Friday night, Jon and I wandered around the West Village until we came across Braeburn, you know...like the apple.
I'd had brisket on the brain since my second-ever Passover seder. Lucky for me, the prix fixe dinner special was a three-course Passover-inspired meal, with brisket as the entree. Yay!
1) Cod dumpling with braised red cabbage. Kind of like gefilte fish. 2) Smoked brisket with spring vegetable stew. This cured my brisket jones, but it wasn't as good as Lorraine's version. 3) Pineapple consomme with matzo balls.
Jon, having attended his sixty-fourth Passover seder, was ready for some non-kosher food, namely bacon and lobster.
1) Pasta with peas and bacon. 2) Lobster with razor clam gravy. 3) Banana pudding.
So glad to hear that my brisket won out in this competition! Now that I know you like it so much, I can make it again for you before next passover if you like.

I think I'll take you up on that. :-) We can trade: I'll make you eggplant parm, and you can make me brisket!
