I've been getting lots of reader queries and comments about new cookies and new ingredients. Bird, who agrees with my friend Katie about doing a goat cheese cookie, also asked this:
Any thought to adding Nutella to your recipes?
That's a great idea, Bird! There must be something in the air because I saw a Nutella commercial for the first time the other night, and--of course--I thought about making a Nutella cookie. Great minds thing alike, I guess.
Nutella, a hazelnut-chocolate spread, is the European equivalent of American peanut butter. In other words, it's pretty tasty stuff. Stay tuned for some stuffed and nonstuffed recipes coming soon.
I will definitely be looking out for this one because my daughter can't get enough of Nutella. She LOVES it! And even if you don't actually use Nutella in the cookie, you could always just make something with chocolate and hazelnuts and it should have the same taste.

There's a picture on Foodgawker of some awesome looking Chocolate Chocolate Chip Nutella Cream sandwich cookies. An OG version sure would be good.

i'm picturing anything nutella stuffed, and chopped hazlenuts as pure love! or even drizzled with nutella- it's pretty much a win win!

Hi, Bird. I'm thinking stuffed is the way to go. Maybe a "shell" with chocolate and chopped hazelnuts.
